Good, small rolls. If hungry its minimum 4 special rolls per person))
Good value on lunch specials. Efficient service and delicious miso soup.
Very much enjoyed the lunch here, ordered thr Chef select nigiri and California rolls. I thought of it as a junior Omakaze
Lots of people even on weeknights. Sushi was fresh and good. Service could use some help.
All other sushi is now ruined for me. Got the omakase two nights in a row.
This place is my number one restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this place. everytime I feel like having a good supper, this is the place that comes immediately to my head. fresh and all sorts of food and a rich cuisine.courteous team, and good spirit. Also, the bill is good. I recommend this restaurant with pleasure.
Excellent service and attention. Excellent food. Very tasty.
It’s chill. Good food and friendly service. Small area though so you feel crowded. Also, long wait.
One of the best chef special Omakase $36 I've ever eaten in San Francisco Peninsula area.Cozy placeFood tastes A+++
The fish is fresh and delicious at this place. The slices are pretty generous. I love the omakase here. It's very reasonably priced at $36! It's 1/3 of the price of any fancy Japanese restaurant you'll find in the city. I've found the fish quality to be better here than at most upscale places in SF. I usually order the omakase and the seared toro with uni. I would definitely recommend the omakase for first time visitors! It's a great way to find your favorite cuts for your next visit. 😉
Sushi was very fresh. Ordered the Chef special and I couldn't finish it, probably because I was eating other appetizers as well. This one is a little smaller, so expect a long wait if you did not make reservations. The o my thing I didn't like was the baby clam special as it kept a fishy aftertaste co later with other sushis. But then again I don't eat one one much so maybe that's normal. 🤣
Very nice omakase that doesn't break the bank. The atmosphere is better than the original amami sushi, and it is often less crowded.
Amazing service friendly and pretty fast! Dragon was amazing and I forgot the name the heart shaped rolls were super good and my wife though it was pretty cute... Well I did but imma say she though it was cute.... =)
Always a fantastic meal, the sashimi is very good quality
Excellent and fresh sushi. Opens 5 pm get there at 5 or you will wait long. I enjoy every time I go. They do take reservations but, ehh.
Amazing food. Amazing omakase! Best wasabi I've had so far.
Excellent sushi with a great atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. I'd highly recommend coming here.
Incredibly fresh fish. Omakase at $33 is unbelievable. Small selection of sakes but very reasonable pricing <20 for a btl. Very friendly and helpful staff if you can get their attention, particularly noticeable if the place is busy. Takes reservations and 2 cards max.
Sought after Sushi for legitimate reasons. Without a doubt, they care about product quality and presentation. Service can be long.
Love this restaurant. They have some of the best sashimi in the Bay Area and is reasonably priced. My wife and I went here for lunch on Valentine's Day and the placed was packed. Luckily, a few tables were finished and ready to leave. We end waiting for less then thirty minutes. We ordered baby o toro, hamachi toro, sake tore, uni and Hokkaido scallops. If you love fatty fish, definitely try the baby o toro and the hamachi toro. Both are fresh and succulent with a taste of umami. We have the hamachi toro lightly seared, which give a more complex taste.
What's not to love about good sashimi? I ordered the sashimi regular at lunch, and it was very filling. The waitresses were friendly and the food came out fast. We got there before the noon hour rush, or else we would have waited a while for a table and even longer for our food.
Overall decent quality food, and the menu has most of the standard offerings you would expect from a sushi restaurant. I did find a sharp bone in one piece of my sashimi, and it took us about 10 minutes to get the check once we wanted to pay (we were there during the lunch rush).
It's a great deal for the omakase. Just long wait and a little awkward if you're seated by the line of ppl waiting for a table
Awesome spot. Legit sushi, good drinks cool specials. The TV had a gruesome show playing which I would recommend they try not to have next time. Lol!
A great Japanese restaurant with many interesting roll , people flood in during dinner time
The food was quite good. I ended up with their omakase and was pleased with the portions of fish on each piece. I will definitely be back.
Really good sushi in South SF! I love this place! Every time I want to eat sushi I always go to this place!
More of what expect from Amami Sushi, but in a newer building and with shorter waits. The quality of the fish is an incredible value. You get large cuts of expertly crafted nigiri. Service is decently fast, but it's small so they can't not notice you. Non-raw dishes are tasty, too. Inside is clean with a sushi bar if you plan on dining alone. Specials are posted on the wall, visible from every table
We had a superb in this restaurant. We loved the awesome vibes and the menu. The staff were super personal. I am glad we finally decided to visit this restaurant.
Best sushi in SSF.
I love getting the omakase here! It was a bit crowded when we came here for dinner but the service is pretty quick and friendly.
I highly recommend the Omakase. Fish is superbly fresh. Large slices of fish in every dish. Pictured below is sashimi regular and chirashi bowl regular. Make a reservation if you decide to come here
Ordered the omakase... only $36 but it packed a punch. I live in NY and an omakase of this portion would have definitely been upwards of $80.Fish slices on top of the nigiri were generously sized. You should be able to see from the pictures that these fish chunks are huge. I loved the idea of having a fish head miso soup. Strongly suggest trying that out.Service was just okay; I had to ask them to go over what each nigiri was for the omakase. I would have expected this to be done always for omakase. Still, give this a 5* cause all I care about is the food!
This spot is worth a try. They serve big portions for reasonable prices. Constantly clean and with awesome character. Would recommend to others.
You should definitely try the see heart roll. ....Soo good
Get there with enough time to wait. Food is so good that it is worth waiting. Preferably call and make a reservation.
Always great and Hebe is the best. Thamk you..sharon
Tasty ans fast but not cheap, cramped, and loud. Up to 50 persons. We were there around 6pm on Monday. There were a lot of people including party with screaming toddlers. Tables were too close to each other. We were sitting there like one bug family. Although it was a workday there was a line. We waited about 5 min but others after us no less than 10-15 min. Everything was tasty and good sized. We ordered tempura shrimps with vegies, 3 roll sets and 1 dinner with chicken teriyaki, rice, salad, and soup. Served fast with free unlimuted hot green tea or water. Everything was good and tasty but it cost us $60+tips which is at least 30% greater than our ordinary spending at sushi places. But long patient line for such small place testifies that this place is popular.
Ordered the "lover's boat" - a good deal for two people. "Fish stuff" was of a good quality and delicious. But it is a pretty busy place and looks like they do not have enough waiters. We had to ask three times to bring us water. Also when they brought ice cream for dessert it was all melted.
Their sashimi is the best. A little pricy, but worth the price. Big chunk of fish and a little rice at the bottom. Just order the special that's written on the broad. Service is excellent, very attentive. And there is always a wait like twenty to thirty minutes.
Love this place. This is the only restaurant I go to for sushi. They have great service too! At times, the wait time can be very long but let me tell you it’s worth your time.
Best bang for your buck sushi, omakase and specials are always my go to. Can get very busy, but call ahead to try to make a reservation (prepare to wait even if you have a res). Once seated the food is def worth.
There is always a long line for dinner time on the weekends. Decent service.
Great little spot in South San Francisco only 5 minutes from the airport. Try the 10-piece omakase for $38: great value you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere else. Complimentary soup and green tea, the servings are generous and the service is efficient.
Went here to visit a friend in town. Reviews don't lie. They took our reservation and set it up so they sat their tables at the same time which really helped make things fair. It took a minute to be seated but the speed of service after compensated for the 15min wait. They even asked us to move to accommodate more guests and in the end made it worth our while. Very happy with quality and service.
Best sushi I've had in the bay area, hands down. Good quality, decent price. Amazing omakase.
Excellent nigiri sushi. Try the Omakase.
Overall decent quality food, and the menu has most of the standard offerings you would expect from a sushi restaurant. Wasn’t too stoked on this one for random Tuesday date. Idk if it was a busy night or short staffed but it really didn’t work for us. Overall the food was good and everyone we saw came here for the sushi. Considering South SF is kinda limited in sure it works but the service killed the experience. The seating was slow and we had to sit at the bar (they prioritize reservations, obviously), they forgot about our beer, and the entree’s took way too long. I think she forgot about it again. Not too hyped but the food is good so it’s worth it if the service runs smoothly.
Nice place!
